Airborne Museum ‘Hartenstein’

The Airborne Museum 'Hartenstein' focuses on The Battle of Arnhem, a crucial part of Operation Market Garden, which took place in September 1944. This famous Battle has led to a lot of different studies, books and movies as including 'A Bridge too Far' by Cornelius Ryan.

After heavy fighting the Allied Forces eventually had to withdraw because of the heavy German counterattacks. This defeat caused great effect on the speed of the liberation of Europe. Moreover it had major impact on the political situation after the Second World War.
