The museum café ‘Het Rode Hert’ is a place to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, freshly baked pastries or lunch inside the museum. The café also has a sunny terrace that borders on lovely Hartenstein Park.
Het Rode Hert
In the earliest records dating from 1728, Villa Hartenstein is first referred to as an inn called ‘Het Rode Hert’ [the Red Deer]. In 1779 the lawyer J. van der Sluys bought the inn and its surroundings. He had the inn demolished and built a manor with additional buildings on the site of today’s Hartenstein Restaurant.
The museum café is currently open from Monday to Sunday between 10 am and 5 pm.
In collaboration with Buitenpoort Catering, the Airborne Museum offers diverse arrangements for receptions, meetings, dinners, lunches or cocktails for groups. For more information or to make a reservation, please contact our Reservations Department.
